Welcome! We are a friendly badminton club based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. We play at the One Leisure Centre in Huntingdon on Tuesday evenings at 9pm.
Badders Mafia was founded in 2023 by a few mates playing squash and badminton together. It kind of spiraled until we accidentally became a badminton club!
We’ve kept it fairly casual, with no coaching1 or formal training; we’re definitely the underdogs right now. However we’ve played for a while2 and have some epic games!
In summer 2026 we formalised the club – we’ve happily gained a sponsor and are now registered with Badminton England and the Cambridgeshire Badminton Association. As such we’re insured to play and can enter competitions.
We currently charge £12 per month for membership, which covers 4 club nights a month and insurance. This may change, and is only to cover costs.
Club night
We currently play an hour a week (Tuesday evenings at 9pm.) We may consider more time or an additional day in the future.
We tend to play doubles, sometimes 2 vs. 1, randomising partners. We have just started to keep score to learn who plays best with who, and to see how we are improving.
Socials
Every month or two we have an evening out of some kind. Curry and drinks in Huntingdon or St. Ives is popular, with the odd BBQ thrown in for good measure.
We also occasionally meet for drinks after a club night in the summer months.

There are other nearby clubs such as the St. Ivo Badminton Club and The Wire Badminton Club.
